I also have this bug undet lucid 10.04 LTS since second bootup, but OS boots
correctly.
I DO have Grub installed and a XP partition at the beginning of the boot drive.
I use a Nvidia 7600GT card and the driver compiled by the lucid install, but I
don't think that's active at the time when the sc

I also see this bug when trying to open .SLK files (a Excel exchange format).
The proposed application to open this is Openoffice,
which is correct, but just as with Pdf's, which most of the time would not
open, I have to download the file in order to open it in
a separate window.

Can't ope
for me, switching off and on the Ubuntu Firefox Modification extension did not
solve the problem.
I have several associations with helper apps that do not work anymore. where
can I edit these settings?

Just saw this error the first time today, (it just displays, while boot
goes on), and am surprised to see that it is an old, unsolved bug that
is ignored by Canonical (they have too much 'real' trouble to fight, I
guess).
I 'vote' for the theory that the error is a timing issue at boot time,
like

"descended" again with an update, overwriting the corrected script on my
machine.
