Almost all dialogs crash without G_SLICE=always-malloc here.
I’ve been fighting with gimp’s internal functionality that catches
crashes and prints stack traces. I just can’t seem to turn it off. gimp

Gimp crashes. It catches the SEGV using its own handler, so apport and
gdb don’t catch it. A parameter should prevent gimp from catching the

I don’t believe my debugging intentions or someone’s misunderstanding of
them matters regarding the validity of this bug report.
This shouldn’t happen:
% gimp --stack-trace-mode never
This is a development version of GIMP.
I investigated the problem a bit further. It isn’t a segmentation fault,
but instead libc detects a problem, prints a stack trace and calls
abort().
When using ‘--stack-trace-mode never’, gimp refrains from catching
SIGBUS, SIGSEGV and SIGFPE, but it still catches SIGABRT, which isn’t
then raised
Here’s a valgrind report. It took a full fifteen minutes just to get
gimp’s main window opened in a valgrind session. ;-)

The mdadm tries to assemble /dev/md0 before /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 appears.
Workaround:
1) Boot kernel with break=mount (This causes the initramfs to pause somewhere
before mdadm but after udev)
2) Wait a few seconds while udev detects /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1
3) Press Ctrl-D t
After a somewhat lenghty discussion on #ubuntu-motu, it has been
established, that it's probably not a good idea to try a SRU, since the
shift from 1.4.1 to a newer version will probably be rejected.

I also successfully built the feisty modules and tested the Client. I
browsed an image library constantly for about 1 hour, and everything
seemed to work. I haven't tested the server components on edgy, but I am
running 1.4.4-1 on a feisty server and they work great there as well..

i have updated it, with reference to this discussion. It does not look
like it has been given much attention though, so how do we push the
edgy-backports team to do something about it?

What Jeff is describing is exactly what happens. I just have to wait a
few seconds, then the sd? devices and the /dev/md0 is created
automatically. I can then press ctrl+d to continue. It's like it just
needs a few extra seconds to find the drives before mdadm tries to

I am not sure that my problem is the same problem that is discussed
here, but my desktop certainly tries to hibernate after returning from
a suspend by gnome-power-manager. I have attached the output of "gnome-
power-manager --no-daemon --verbose" (going through two cycles of
suspend&hibernate).
This blocks bug 78725, which has 19 duplicates.
Any luck with fixing the re-tracer?

mentioned. To begin with, I don't have a Surround setting in
gnome-volume-control, only Master and PCM (for the default HDA Intel device).

shell (which are not part of OnTV) scripts are executed, the configured

In "top" it's the RES field. I think the might be a setting in g-s-m for
this.
Running the scripts as niced processes is a good idea and should be
easy, I'll look into it. The listings are needed for the search program
feature, and there are plans on adding a listing browser as well. The

Resume from suspend-to-ram, works fine for the most part except that the
second CPU core loses frequency scaling (and goes to maximum frequency):

Please disregard that attachment I just posted, that was by mistake. The
Hardy kernel contains the new b43 driver, which does not have this
problem. Marking as fixed.

I see now that the absence of /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq is a
red herring - that's not there on the first boot either, when the
frequency on the second core does scale correctly. I'll look into this
some more...

recommend installing it on Gutsy.

Nothing has changed with 2.6.24-10, the bug is still there. The dmesg is
also basically the same, but I'm attaching it just in case. In
particular, the suspicious ACPI errors mentioned above are still there.

* Boot the live CD.
* Click the Install icon.
* Answer all questions so that file copying starts.
Current behavior:
* Files are copied. There's a progress bar that hardly moves. It is
difficult to grasp how much time the installation will take.
