Hmm, I've tried all of this (commenting out the version line, using
version 0, using version 712) on my Hp Deskjet 712c printer, but then
again I'm not quite sure that I have the same error. All the jobs I
print are completed, just nothing comes out of the printer. Does anyone
know why this happe

Um, well I cant make a pnm image with gimp...only a ppm. So I tried a
ppm file, and it didnt work.

Well I can close this bug report...I unplugged everything on the printer
and then repluged everything and then tryed to add a local printer and
it was on the list...I know it wasnt connected wrong because it worked
in windows...but...well, it works now. Pascal De Vuyst thanks for your
time :-)

Alright, well I recently rebooted and low and behold the printer did not work
again...what a suprise. Anyway so I retraced my steps and it seems that I have
to:
1.) start /etc/init.d/hplip, otherwise the kde printing wizard doesnt see the
printer :-/

Just another confirmation. Before upgrade to fiesty I had ndiswrapper
set up and everything was going fine, then I upgraded and it no longer
detects my card (lspci sees it, just no wireless devices). Exact same
symptoms.

Update, I have not thoroughly tested it yet, but it appears that I fixed
the problem.
Steps:
1 - Download ndiswrapper (attachment included), stick it on a flash drive or cd
and then bring it to the computer with no internet. Transfer it over, un tar
it , cd to the directory created, run "make u

I was under the impression that this was a bug concerning the BCM4306
Wireless LAN Controller in that it didn't work after the upgrade from
fiesty. I had the exact same card and problem so I assumed it was the
same bug. Also, the default driver did not work either, but the
ndiswrapper did ... so

Sorry, I am on fiesty so I can't really test the hplip restart. However, I
do know that in fiesty for me it wasn't fixed until I used the same
work-around as before.
