Just another me too with getting kernel panics since I switched drivers.

Guys, I've only had 7 days since you asked for more info and I just
haven't had time to respond yet. As it is the bug is still there, but

I've just recieved a bit of Chinese spam, and when I deleted it it was
displayed with a strikethrough.
So I changed the font I use and that fixed the strikethrough problem.
However it has not fixed the cursor problem.

reports the package version as 2.0.2a1-4ubuntu2 and "mayavi -V" gives
"MayaVi 2.0.2a1". I have a bunch of python stuf
After reading the rest of the thread, I removed wxgtk2.8 and mayavi2
runs fine now.
I'll try reinstalling it when the backport goes out.

With the bug being a bit intermittent it is hard to give a definitive
answer, but it does seem to be OK with the nv drivers (and I am still
seeing the bug with the nvidia drivers).

Kdevelop often crashes while re-loading the last project on startup.
The call stack appears to be in the file tree code somewhere which makes
me suspect that it is the svn integration that is the culprit.

then it seems that that might be the root cause. Search launchpad for

By the way, a fix for this bug (and the problems you get with 2CD sets)
is to use musicbrainz Picard to tidy things up after a rip. It's an
extra step, but I think it's worth it as it sets all metadata correctly
including embedding album art if you want it to.
