I don't really know if it's a compiz or indicator-messages plugin.
But I wonder how the Unity Launcher correctly changes desktops when you
focus something if the bug is in compiz?

Hi Steve,
I think this won't be fixed.
You're the first person to notice it as far as I can tell.
It doesn't affect me anymore, but I can't tell if it's the fact that I
use a different computer now or that I have upgraded to 13.04
What version of Ubuntu do you have?

Hello Steve,
I'm glad that this problem is gone for you now. I hope it never comes back.
If an update was the cause then it must have been fixed.
Have a nice day and let's hope no one ever faces this problem again.

I discovered that fingerprint-gui was interfering with the way software-center
authenticates. The problem also affected update-manager and Software Sources.
Something went wrong when updating to Oneiric.
I uninstalled fingerprint-gui and now everything works, I'll try to install it
again.

Hi. If you have fingerprint-gui installed, you'll have to remove it because
it's tied to the previous Ubuntu version.

This happens to me too in Oneiric, and I just upgraded from Natty where it was
working correctly.
The Software center doesn't asks you for your password and does nothing because
it has no permissions.
Running Software Center with the command 'sudo software-center' makes it
work.
