I now have exactly how this hot key works.
Scenero 1:
When video out hotkey pressed.
Send Windows (Super) + P
Wait 0.5 seconds
If no key is pressed send return key. If any key is pressed do not
send anything.
Scenerio 2:
User holds video out hotk
So my exact description is directly from the internal only (sadly)
specification data sheet. But I'm being shown by folks at least on the

I am not seeing this issue in 9.10 using 2.6.31-20 kernel using Western
Digital 1.5GB driver hooked up via usb, esata, & firewire.
I left it connected more then 24 hours.

I'll have others give it a try with there firewire disks. I only have
Western Digital My Book 1.5gb disk. Which is the most common consumer case
today.
Works fine under 9.10 on the same machine(s). Under 10.04 no go.

The rfkill works to kill the wifi & blutooth.
Though on machines like the Inspiron 15n their appears to be an issue
with it bringing the bluetooth & wirless device back.
You have to press the key 4 - 5 times to bring both back correctly. So

This is something I plan to look into for next release. The microphone
mute key is not a standard key. It will not even work under windows
without a special driver from Lenovo.
Though let me know what happens if you put acpi_osi=Linux on the command
line.

The problem isn't to offer both eject & umount. The problem is that when
you click the eject button in Nautilus. It completely disconnects the device.
The patch above force fully makes all usb storage devices get disconnected from

This driver is based on an older kernel. It's actually the
"drivers/input/mouse" dir with sentelic & sentelic.h add. I'll take some time
and make patches for upstream. Things have changed now with 2.6.31, or at
least the way make files are done .. probably some other ps2mouse fixes.

This issue was introduced into on of the 8.04 SRU kernels. The patch
here is actually upstream fix to the patch that was included in SRU that caused
the issue. It is not an issue in any other version past 8.04 since both patch

mouse-prefrences as "Enable mouse clicks with touchpad"

Great work Collin that works!
Though I had some misunderstanding when filing this bug initially. This
logic is also need in Ubiquity. As the factory install process for
standard Ubuntu inside Dell uses Ubiquity and not the debian installer
(my bad, point of confusion with different Ubuntu type rel

Yes Ubiquity is not installing the PAE kernel. Though debian installer
is. I've attached logs.

Just caught another issue. While the pae kernel is being installed. The
linux-headers-*-generic-pae are NOT being installed. The package is on
the DVD.
The linux-headers-*-generic are being installed should not be.
The issue here is dkms packages will fail to build without the proper
header pac

Yes. Actually I am gathering info now. Some soundcards don't seem to show
it though. So i'm gathering info on those that don't show it. Can you add
/proc/asound/card0/codec#0 to the bug. Trying to nail down which cards are ok
and which are not.

We do need a solution then for this issue with the PAE kernel. DKMS
packages are something that we have to often use. This can be solved by hacking
the linux-headers-pae into a preseed file. Though this is something that will
cause many problems down the road as some will be unaware w
