So the problem is still there and the patch does need to be applied. BUT
there is a new profile for network manager called "Auto Mobile Broadband
(GSM)" . That no longer attempts to set the APN but on dial *99#. So the
problem is skipped.

Just tested by DDing the CDrom I've been using to test this into a file,
and adding it to my Intrepid KVM instance. It sees it as a UDF
filesystem and Gnome opens it now without issue. So this is now fixed in

Well it works on my Thinkpad X301, but only after trying to connect for
the 2nd time via network manager (connecting to ATT). When you try the

As of March 3 fresh install. The problem very much still exists. It
has been reported on more then one ARM platform. I'm using babbage 1.0 with an
SD card. I used your script:

The SD cards are formated ext2. I would say that this is an i/o case but
seems like something more suttle may be going on.

to System->Prefrence->Startup Applications . Then uncheck Gnome Keyring Daemon.

Investigating now if it is possible to easily intel driver in 8.10.
Verifying with Intel if there are any other changes need then these:

signficant amount of CPU that is unacceptable. This is using the now offical

While 2D support is backportable. 3D support for the G41 is still does not work

Can you try an experiment? I think I may know the problem now and it's
at the kernel level.
Can you install this kernel on your interepid system, reboot and see if
things work ?

Yes I do have everything correctly. I even show it connecting in the video
I attached. I did an update the same day to the newest network manager and it
stopped working.
I'll try out the patch.

The patch you posted worked! Connected the first time, it takes a while.
It was the fact that it wasn't given enough time. I'll create a video to show
you exactly what happens.

So with the patch you connect on the first time. It takes about 60
seconds to get a full connection. Video is attached.

Odd you can't see it. Try it in totem, works fine for me.
For the 2nd attempt it works in seconds. It's only the initial
attempt where the card has to power up and initialize it takes a full
minute to get going.
I'll give you a log shortly. Can't shutdown my machine for a
