The touchpad is not recognised correctly on an Asus UL30A-A2 either.
Using Mint 8 (Karmic).

It's actually good to see this affecting different laptops. Maybe that will
encourage those that can fix this to do so. I'm stuck on Windows 7 until then.

As someone who has suffered from two show-stopping trackpad bugs in a row,
the thought that a fix for this bug would be delayed due to bureaucratic
fumbling is depressing. Enough with the buggy trackpad implementation!

Same issue on a Asus UL-30A laptop. Syslog shows loss of sync. Disabling
the setting 'Disable touchpad while typing' seems to have helped, but
it's not a perfect fix.
