I have noticed that it happens when I unplug the laptop too. I don't
know if it is related with the brightness lowering performed by the
desktop. After the usual 20 seconds of flickering the computer is not
usable for 2-3 minutes (the Xorg process uses the 100% of the CPU).

I can reproduce a similar behavior. Until yesterday, the boot process
got stuck after the SYSFS warnings. Since yesterday, the messages
