Fixed this error with this command:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz-1 && gconftool-2 --type=list
--list-type=string --set /apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plungins
[core,bailer,detection,composite,opengl,compiztoolbox,decor,grid,move,resize,mousepoll,regex,snap,gnomecompat
I encountered similar problem with i8kutils in two different ways:
First, because the fan is noisy. I tried to follow the solutions and I
ended up with the same problem explained in the bug description. (Note
that my laptop is HP envy.)
Second for a different reason I ran
$sudo apt-get install --

Snapcraft python build fails to run wit
I had the same problem, and i should reboot the system to get wireless to work.
But now every time wireless stops working, I just enter these commands:
$ sudo rmmod iwlagn
$ sudo rmmod iwlcore
$ sudo modprobe iwlcore
$ sudo modprobe iwlagn
and it gets back to work.
I hope it work for you too.
