Another confirmation, and data point if it helps. I have a cdrom (which
is now /dev/scd1) and a dvd/cdrw (/dev/scd0) and can mount a cd in the
cdrom drive, but can't mount a cd or dvd on the dvd/cdrw drive. Trying
to mount the dvd drive looks like the above reports:
# uname -a
Linux home 2.6.20-

The 40_ubuntu_bind9_management.patch applied by the package states:
Description: Enable management of bind9 with manage_dns setting.
- Generate /etc/bind/named.conf.local to plug into the standard Debian bind9
Looks like using the --syslog options also works.
