On 14.04, dropbox (installed via nautilus-dropbox) says "you are running
an old version, please upgrade".
sudo dpkg-reconfigure nautilus-dropbox fixes this as (presumably) the
postint script fetches the new dropbox 1.6.2 from dropbox.

On 12.04 the command
apt-add-repository -y ppa:existing_ppa
mangles the existing ppa sources.list file, causing all updates to be broken,
command line and graphically, requiring manual intervention:

2. It does not install dependencies (if you have no R, it fails to
install).
That 's not perfect. The PPA solves both of those very serious
handicaps.

The PPA has now been updated to 0.96.304
Still, would be great if upstream ran the PPA. They have
plans to do so, or to get it into debian, apparantly when
they reach 1.0 or something like that.

I maintain that PPA. It simply repackages the deb built by rstudio.org
for Ubuntu 10.04 into a PPA for 12.04.
I see our rstudio is full of little question mark icons. It is still usable,
but quite annoying.
Any idea how I can fix this?

Is this not a general mysql bug? Or is the behaviour intentially different from
that on lucid?
(I'm not using automysqlbackup, just a cron script running mysqldump on every
database.
I get the same error on precise, but not on lucid)

Is --skip-lock-tables not an unsafe solution that might produce corrupt backups?
Is it not better to simply stop mysql, mysldump, then start, if you prioritize
backups
over 247 uptime?

Solved this by ecluding performance_schema (along with already exlcuded
information_schema) from the backups.
