The way I solved this collision problem (gutsy):
- prevent loading of the lrm modules "nvidia" "nvidia-legacy" "nvidia-new"
- alias the module "nvidia" produced by the install script
The 3 nvidia restricted modules appear at boottime in
/lib/modules//volatile
Loading is prevented by the line
DI
What I did: use dchroot
I run 64bit Linux desktop with 4 GB ram, and a dchroot 32bit environment on
the same partition.
Whenever I have problems with nvidia accelerated drivers for my 8800GTS I use
the nvidia install script, latest version 100.14.11-pkg2
In my case, the lrm nvidia drivers never
