running karmic as a virtualbox machine I noticed that the vboxadd user
(listed as # 999 if memory serves - I am not on my machine right now, I will
correct later if needed) is showed on the karmic login screen (gnome). I
should try to add a user with id 998 to see what is happening.

I can reproduce this with karmic beta version and I am pretty sure that
you can all reproduce that.
I created users with 500 =< UID < 1000 and they all appear at login screen.
This behaviour in itself doesn't bother me in fact as if you create a user and
want to force its UID you may want him to
reproducing the problem is an all time winner with any computer
(physical or virtualized) and ubuntu 9.10 installation dvd. Only for
users with encrypted homes.

I found a resize problem yesterday on a customer laptop. The display is
at 1024(x768) if memory serves.
What it does:
evolution is launched and takes all the length on the screen and even a bit
more and there lies the problem. Indeed, when you click on evolution to select

it is related to ecryptfs as I do not have the problem if I try when I am
logged with a user without encrypted home.
And I tried on another machine.
steps to reproduce:
encrypt /home of test
log in as test
create a folder in /tmp and try to move to trash.
not working. It tells you to delete it t

in fact, the problem still exists and it seems to be related in some way to how
long the computer stays suspended.
Indeed, after being suspended for a day, the computer wasn't able to resume
while it works after being suspended a few minutes.

all saturday for a test user (click apply...) then I log out and log in with
the test user. no problem it lets me in and tells me I will be granted access
in 5 hours, but I am already in.
