ppscsi won't build with module-assistant under kernel 2.6.17-10-generic (or
newer)
Hi,
This bug is still outstanding after a whole year..
The ppscsi modules failed to compile and were unusable on 'edgy' and then
'feisty'
and now the upcoming 'gutsy' too.
There are more errors under 'feisty' and 'gusty' due to further kernel internal
api changes
in 2.6.20.

I have exactly the same problem.. under edgy (2.6.17-11-generic) and
under feisty (2.6.20-11-generic).
I know the 'powernow-k8' module used to successfully load on this same
CPU/Motherboard/BIOS (Athlon64 3000+ / MSI K8T Neo2 FIR) in an older
version of Ubuntu.. (I'm guessing that was breezy, but
... ps. the edgy kernel was 'amd64' variety, the feisty kernel is 'x86'
variety, both produce the same error:
powernow-k8: Found 1 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ processors (version
2.00.00)
powernow-k8: BIOS error - no PSB or ACPI _PSS objects

This is also presents a big Ubuntu usability issue for me too.. I have
spent years placing the taskbar/window list on the left hand side in
Windows, where it works sensibly and flawlessly (makes it much easier to
work with a large number of open windows).. have never seen it work
under Ubuntu. Hate
