to remove) rigth click on an other bookmark but don't click delete yet.
When the bookmark you first deleted is gone, click on delete bookmark
from the popup menu you got with the second one and pcmanfm will close

BTW mine crashes randomly. Sometimes gives me the same error as in the
bug description, sometimes it launches and gets blank as shown on the
screenshots and on the terminal shows the errors attached.

Would be nice, to be honest. We dont expect any support on this from
Canonical or the package maintainers.
On the subject of security, I think the EFI paths, which are enabled in
probably all the other kernel built distros, should be safe enough as
they will be catched by consumers of those kernel
