I will run a test with the LiveCD. IIRC no matter if you use the proprietrary
ati driver, you can even use vesa driver, the hang occassionally occurs. Maybe
there is some hardware elements needed to reproduce this bug (ipw2000 wifi +

it was the case also for karmic stable release. Anyways, in my case i've heard
it is because of the intel hda video driver. it's that what
I reproduced the bug. I was able to save a dmesg, then in the same
session reproduce the bug, then reinitialize the screen normally again
and save another dmesg output. The two dmesg outputs are identical,
there were no additional lines appended.
