the disk is created and boots normally. when i select 'check' the disk
validates okay. however, if i select 'try ubuntu' or 'i

i got the hdaps working for now by downloading the smapi drivers from
http://tpctl.sourceforge.net/
i then untarred, did 'make HDAPS=1', and then insmod hdaps.ko. this is

That is the expected behavior, when you set a screenlet to be a Widget it will
only show on Widget layer.
You must first activate Widget Layer plugin in Compiz settings manager, and the
default key for showing/hiding Widget layer is F9.
If you want to show screenlet on every desktop use the Stick
Ubuntu 8.04,
to change pb_fnmode to 2 you need to add following command to /etc/rc.local
file

Hi, I am the original poster of this bug, after the latest Ubuntu Hardy updates
(ubuntu-modules was updated), suspend now WORKS, but it is slow.
Since that is another issue (probably related to my wireless which doesn't work

A WORKAROUND:
I attempted to downgrade the the previous version of KVM after this
problem happened, but unfortunately the previous version is no longer in
the repositories.
If you need kvm as badly as I do, the workaround is to find someone with
the old version still installed and use their /usr/

This happened after a kvm upgrade yesterday from 12-1ubuntu1 to
15-1ubutu1.

Here's a screenshot of what the background looks like when Ubuntu is
boot up after a fresh install. the background is set to zoom. Same
effect when choosing any type of position (except span).

The problem was that it put the laptop screen within the external screen
in the Monitors application.

I have tracker installed since some Ubuntu releases. I don't have any
other search installed (like bigle). Tracker was upgraded with the rest
of the system, when I upgraded to 10.04.
