Step 1, open a terminal.
a) become superuser
$ sudo su
b) remove forcedeth kernel module (it's the ethernet's driver)
# rmmod forcedeth

Vlado, do you mind following the guide at
http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/quirk/ ? If it does work after that,
it seems that the functions keys are still not working out of the box for some
laptop series.
Still, after a fresh install of Interpid 8.10 on HP G7000 they work fine.
