I am also facing the same issue. After adding sl-modem.conf file,
supplied by Darik Horn has solved my problem. i have PCI SM56 Motorola
chip-set base modem.

Currently, I can get out of this bug by killing the process manually.
#sudo killall -9 mixer_applet2
Then, gnome-applets will ask you to reload it again, Press "Reload", it
should solve your problem. But just work around :)

Yes, i am aware with "apport-collect", Nice to tool, help to collect the
crash report. But my scenario is different. For example, In Bug #
339187, mixer_applet2 is utilizing 100% CPU, When i realized about that,
i tried to collect all necessary data about that PID (I think "apport-
collect"
Now, i can reproduce this bug consistently (Most of the time). Please
find the step below to reproduce it.
Problem:
mixer_applet2 is utilizing 100% CPU usage after doing resume. Sound is working
fine.
Step to reproduce:
1. Just do suspend
2. Then resume
3. Observer the "top" utility.
#top -p 45

Yes, i have tested your patch against Huawei EC1260 / Haier CE 100, Now
those modems are working fine with NM. Those modems are used by Reliance
for NetConnect Broadband+ service and Tata's for Photon+ s INTERNET
service.

I have just inserted modem and as it was in profile for "Auto Connect",
It was dialling to my Mobile Broadband Service. But i got crash. Let me
try to reproduce this again. But after latest Karmic Beta i am not able
to dial modem at all. I am facing this problem [1].
