I found a solution for the problem in duplicate bug #271138 : sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-all Keyboard and touchpad is now working. I'm not sure what the cause of the problem was, but in my xorg.conf I found this: (WW) Warning, couldn't open module evdev (II) UnloadModule: "evdev" (E
