This isn't an Ubuntu issue. I had the same problem in Crunchbang. The problem
is somewhere in XFCE.
My shortcuts are working at the moment and I'm holding my breath.

I am also running 16.04 and my date time indicator has crashed. I can
not see any Evolution events under the date time indicator and my clock

I am on 14.04 64bit.
When I set the conky window to override I also get something similar to
overlapping letters.
When the conky updates it looks as though letters are written on top of letters
that were already there - this makes it very difficult to read what conky is
displaying.

I recently installed the Compiz Settings Manager and using their Window
Rules option I was able to tell Compiz to never focus on my Conky
window. I needed to restart for the change to take effect, but that has
totally solved the problem on my system.

So since this has been confirmed and seems to be solved using the latest
upstream kernel, what happens next?
How long does it usually take for the fix to be incorporated into the Ubuntu

I'm running a Dell Inspiron 1520 with an Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS.

there step by step directions?
Another note: When I ran the command sudo halt -p I was able to shut
down.

Adding INIT_HALT = POWEROFF to /etc/default/halt did not solve my
problem. The only thing that seems to work for me is to use a different
kernel and not use any Nvidia drivers.
What do I need to do to change the status of this bug from incomplete?
Does incomplete mean that no one will work on fix
