I'm realy happy to see, there is life on launchpad :)
I have experimented today, there is still the same bug. My system is the
updatet-last-week Ubuntu 8.10, Firefox and VLC Lan plugin. On the website, if I
cklick on the link in menu on the left side, firefox beginns to load it and
crashes.
I'm not shure, but Transmission was updated, or? So, by me it don't
crashes anymore.

Transmission is crashing by me too. Here is some frome the strace log:

I have opened the folowing website http://asmolov-vladimir.narod.ru/ and
firefox crashes after I have clicked in menu left. I think, the vlc
plugin is not ok. Please report it to the programmer of this plugin.

PS: without this plugin it works, but I don't hear music on this
website. So, it crashes if I am using the vlc and there is background
music.

I have exactly the same bug since some days using Karmic Koala on the EEEPC
1000H, but I can reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del and then shut down while BIOS POST is
running. In my opinion, it is a bad idea to let everybody reinstall the whole
system, who have this bug too.

Workaround found: just hibernate your machine.

At the moment I have following information: after Ctrl+Alt+Del I can see that
kernel is not frozen: its restarting normal. Also I can switch between the
terminals (Ctrl+Alt+Fx), but I can't login: I can see no letters typed.
Second: changed bug status to "Incomplete", because we need more inform
It works fine for me. I want to close this bug now.
