This is already fixed in gnotime 2.3.0 which is already in Debian Sid
and is pending the removal of an outdated ia64 binary[1] to enter
Lenny.
I think we should request a backport of 2.3.0 to Hardy. It's a lot
better than 2.2.2.

Gnotime 2.3.0 (with the GtkTreeView based implementation) is available
on Sid for some time already. Unfortunately it didn't migrate into
testing yet due to lack of support for guile-1.8 in the ia64
architecture[1].

My experience is that it really "freezes" the machine for some time
when branking a CD-RW and at the "fixating" fase of burning a data

You can reproduce by doing the following:
1 - create a file (let's name it pathlist) with the following contents:

2 - execute this command:

You can build a package with debug information enabled in Debian (or I can
build it for you, just tell me the version you're using),
and then you can get a backtrace of the crash by running gnomebaker under gdb.

The current packages are compiled without large file support and thus
fail when stating such large file. The attached patch fixes the building
of the package so it will have large file support. I'm including it in
the 0.6.0-8 revision of the package I'll be uploading to Debian soon/
