I would like to emphasize that the fix above also solves a problem with wine
applications:
Popups/popdowns have been misplaced, which was a new bug in oneiric. (Most
often they popped up in the upper left edge of the screen).
This also works right now with the fix from oneiric-poposed applied.
@Daniel or Sam: Is there any PPA for Ubuntu 13.04 I could use to install
compiz 0.9.10 with the fix for this bug? I would rather not want to

(note: sometimes they are displayed correctly, sometimes the are not).

I also have this bug on a Dell Vostro 1520, and already removed the Dell
Recovery Tool. However, next time I had this problem again.

I just did a fresh install of Maverick on a separate partition of my laptop.
The first login showed the panel without errors. Then I installed the recent
upgrades (which should have been installed by the installation procedure
already. Somehow they weren't, but that's another bug...

Ok, Sebastien, I think we both face the same problem: We cannot find the
right bug report for the given bug in a suitable amount of time. You
know that there is one (otherwise you wouldn't have closed the bug, I
guess) while I did not.
