Hi Christopher,
good question. I had some problems during the installation process
(e.g. skype:i386 -> bug in dpkg) or my openGL runs not very stable
(Lenovo x121e (Intel I3 with integrated Intel HD 3000)) but I think I
didn't change any desktop configuration.
Therefore I have tried the following

I have the same behavior like #50
1) Check if skype is installed:
# dpkg -l skype:i386
Gewünscht=Unbekannt/Installieren/R=Entfernen/P=Vollständig Löschen/Halten
| Status=Nicht/Installiert/Config/U=Entpackt/halb konFiguriert/
Halb installiert/Trigger erWartet/Trigger anhängig
|/ Fehler?=(k
During my last upgrade the same behavior again..
# apt-get upgrade

@ Steve and Christian: Thank You for your advice. The workaround is the

Title:
skype: error while loading shared librari
Had the same problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04. w/o any error when
running "/usr/lib/libconf-2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2" in a terminal. Tried
many things w/o success. Finally, #16 solved the problem for me too.
