running with an 850mhz CPU. I do nothing special in setup and as I
recall, SBA and FW's are not supported on that card, so there's no

I really do not believe that I installed the packages you want me to
uninstall.actually, I just did a search in synaptic and see that neither
one of the packages you want me to uninstall are installed. I'm not trying to
contradict you, but there is nothing for me to uninstall at the

I installed and tested on both 32bit and 64bit, installs just fine, I
did get a warning that the sanity check could not be preformed due to
multiple nvidia.ko's found in the kernel 2.6.24.19(32 bit pc), however
it did not seem to cause problems. ( I thought I had removed previous

I'm having a keyboard problem on a dell latitude C800 laptop. I get dead
keys. they seem to "go dead" when the laptop lid is shut while the
system is up and running as best I can tell. I had assumed that the
notebook keyboard needed to be replaced because sometimes they dead keys

higher video detection problems go away. BTW 7.10 rocks !!! good job

I can confirm this problem still exists in 8.04. I went thru all the
above tests and trials all to no avail. vboxdrv is clearly not getting
installed. With no VMWare available, I decided to try VBOX, my uname -r
is : 2.6.24-17-generic which differs from the above which indicates
kernel 2.6.24-16-ge
I am writing this 16 hours after the post directly above this post, so
it looks like 16 hours later the 24.0.1 version is still not there ( no
.17 kernel ) is that right ?

to start. This is also a problem when upgrading to hardy 8.04 from 7.10,

However I am not sure why that makes it less a bug because it only lasts
for 30 minutes before it goes to sleep ? why on earth would an
application designed to be "green" friendly race the CPU until it goes

No, I'm sorry, it doesn't answer my question. Though, it may very well
be more an issue that I disagree with. Why on earth would Ubuntu NOT
want to collect information about crashes that occur with Ubuntu
supplied software ? You have an automatic crash handler that CAN collect
crash reports for Ubu

What I am trying to show is that it looks like it has been designed to
be that way because its perfect in the one source origin light source,
however it did not function that way for the first 3 weeks. What I see
