I've been using Hardy to access sftp accounts on a server since the
first Hardy Alpha. I had no problems. Today, I am getting poblems, no
recent updates, nothing, so I don't know what's started it. Every time I
try and connect to the remote sftp account using the valid username
'piceco' bookmark it

The system kept hanging for me. Only thing that kept working was the
mouse, I could move the pointer, but not click, or use the keyboard, the

workaround of copying the contents of
/usr/share/gedit-2/plugins/snippets, not sure if it needs a recursive
copy to include the lang folder though.

Brilliant! Installing linux-backports-modules also worked on my black
first-gen macbook. Now I have beautifully clear sound from the left-side

I can confirm this bug is present on Hardy Heron. I installed the debian
from the link supplied by KarlGoetz and that's got it working! I have
no idea what the difference is, but at least it works.

I groped and greped my way through syslog an found nothing at all like
that. About the only thing I saw was warnings that ipupdating allowed
wireless networks. It doesn't have wireless, only wired though. Hope
that helps.

I can confirm this. Always happened on Dapper, Edgy and is still
ocurring on Feisty. I have done a clean install of the operating
systems. Selecting a Networked JetDirect in the manager, enter the IP:
192.168.1.10, choose the recommended PostScript driver for my LaserJet
3055 and finish, no printer
Seems to have resolved itself. Can be marked as fixed or something.

I'm now quite convinced that these horrible crashes were the result of the swap
partition becoming unstuck.
Computer performance had been slow and error prone, then I noticed my swap

install on a crappy old HP Omnibook 6100.
Possible (untested) solution is to go to System-->Preferences-->Sessions and
remove Network Manager from the startup items. This will avoid breaking the
