I don't know open source side that much on this side, we have utilities
(XS Tools) that enable these CPUs.
The problem (hang or crash) occur removing CPUs.
I'll try the tail check.

installing from network Precise Pengolin 32 bit on a XenServer machine the
generic kernel is installed. However generic 32 bit kernel does not have
support for PAE. Support to PAE is required by XenServer so after installing
machine it does not boot.
