I can confirm all of the above.
Multirow taskmanager seems to have been part of the problem on my set
up, but renaming .kde does not help.

OpenOffice.org crashes in Gutsy (Kubuntu) when trying to install new diction
I am not so sure it is strictly a kde issue. I just did a test install
of pclinuxos 2007 and all the kde ->samba configuration tools are
behaving as they should. So maybe it is a kubuntu->kde issue.

Sorry for the exclusion, pclinuxos ships samba vers. 3.0.23b.
@fbusse I still think it is a mix of both, Kubuntus interpretation of kde and
samba (shiped with kubuntu 7.04 as of today 3.0.4)
As stated it worked in edgy and it works in pclinuxos 2007. So I think
this is a kubuntu issue.

I can confirm this on Tribe5. Strigi also seems to crash konqueror and kmail.
It starts up at boot with no way to edit this behavior.
At least removing strigi lets Konqueror and kmail behave stabily.

The workaround mentioned above results in a lot of dependencies errors.
The funny thing is I just installed the tribe3 version of ubuntu did an
upgrade and did not get any issues with OO 2.2.1-5u3. So I am not sure
if this is not a kubuntu only thing or maybe just an upgrade from tribe
2 to tribe

I can confirm this. Knetwork shows me I am not connected, eventhough I
am. When I disable knetwork to open in tray at boot I have to manually
deactivate and reactivate my connection every second or third reboot.
Otherwise I have no connection.

In have the same issue. even after todays upgrades.
I was able to boot with the .14 kernel so no real harm done.
Booting with the .15 kernel in recovery mode gives me this message:

That line was in my edgy smb.conf. but it worked there. In feisty i had
to uncomment it (thanks guys) but to get RW permissions i had to unmount
all shares, reboot, remount all shares wth RW and reboot. This is not
Samba, but something else. I did a fresh install on a virgin partiton
with a new use
I have not had a problem with FF, ever! I am now running it under feisty
kubuntu, with most of the plugins(flash, real, etc) I would like to
help, but wouldn't know where to look. Maybe someone can suggest a file
or files that I can post for comparison purposes?

I don't know if it is just the gui. I copied my edgy smb.conf over to feisty
without touching the gui and had the same problem.
commenting out the msdfs line did the trick though.
