I ran again a quick smoke test on the packages ibm-java80-jre and ibm-java80-jdk (both from "-proposed partner" on xenial in version 8.0.6.0) performing install, upgrade, package info, version, help, compile, verbose compile and program execution. So far everything looks and works like expected.
