Yes, this behavior is quite consistent - and it happens on different systems
that require vlan configurations (tested on two systems - each several times -
happened every time).
I may try on another or more systems - maybe under less load conditions ...
Well, I'm not sure if looking back to groo
I found an older (known to work) config in my notes for 20.04.1 - and I
just retried it and can confirm that autoinstall (with vlan) works with
20.04.1 on the same system LPAR system.
I'll proceed now using newer and newer releases and see where issues
start to occur ...

This is a bit different to verify, since it's kernel scripting and
infrastructure rather than doing testing with the proposed kernel itself.
But I tested it on groovy in the past, so the same should apply now with focal
...
I created a fresh focal master-next clone on a s390x system, like this:
I have to update the verification status for focal.
I re-did everything from scratch and it worked now.
(Did it twice, just to be sure - there was either a problem in the git tree I
used or s/t went wrong while I transferred the data to a s390x test system or a
racy situation ...)

5.8 (rc-1) (also tagged with next-20200820).
Hence it's in groovy (since Ubuntu-5.8.0-13.14) and in hirsute
