So I tried to recreate and provoke any problems with the IP addresses on a test
LPAR that has in between 5 OSA based qeth devices (4 of them with two addresses
- one on base, one on the vlan device) and 4 RoCE (v1) ports.
Other than finding out that one of the RoCE ports has probably no link (whi

To be able to better compare between focal-daily and impish I now started LPAR
installations:
1) on focal daily (from pending) - where things work, means where I get the
temp/randon pw
2) and on impish (daily) (again from pending) - where I do not get a

I used LPAR installs to be

from the "Integrated ASCII console", where impish/subiquity ran I opened the
live shell and did:

and I can see two "x" coming through to the "Operating Systems mes
I just checked the situation for this on hirsute.
The patch is already included in hirsute (master):

Looks like the line in subiquity-serial.conf did the trick!
With this in place and as part of the Impish daily ISO (I used the image from
today, July 2nd) I can now see the temp./random password again - and even more
nicely at the end of the installer boot-up process - great !
That sounds like 'fun'...
If there is once a candidate available that can be used by focal (or an
appropriate focal daily) - I'm happy to do some more testing on focal, too.

I today received a note from an IBMer who had issues to (re-)install an IBM Z
system with various DASD ECKD disks in a LVM configuration.
I was able to recreate the situation on our system and itis as follows:
