Same things happen to me on Hardy 8.04 i386. I have a Logitech Quickcam
Pro for Notebooks (046d:0991). The v4l driver is uvcvideo. I think this
is related to limitations in the driver. Since this also causes problem
in mplayer, drv-qtgui, v4l-conf and most v4l applications I tried.

So I didn't find any interesting error messages apart maybe the following which
appeared at the end of my Xorg.0.log:

I'm very sorry to report that the lock-up is still happening in the same
circumstances. The kernel package I have installed (from today) is:
linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic: 2.6.28-11.41

It seems to go to hibernation fine, (at least it shuts down). But when I

dapper-updates, network printing fails mysteriously.
My printer is connected to a box running Woody which has an old version
of cups: 1.1.14-5woody1
Indeed after installing the cups packages present in that archive,
network printing to the Woody server works again.

In gnumeric, when I try to save a file in a directory that contains non-

Holding the shift key bypassed the graphical bootloader and the
installer worked correctly after that.
Note that for some reason the screen resolution was not set correctly
and the installation progressed in 640x480. After the installation
completed, I was able to have all the resolutions supporte

I didn't have any problems with dead keys (French Canadian keyboard) but
they don't work anymore since I upgraded to Edgy. (I am running the
3.5.6 KDE packages. (The dead keys aren't working only in KDE/QT
applications.)

I also have this problem in KDE 3.5.9, and changing the property doesn't
seem to work around the annoying problem.

I attempted to upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy using sudo adept_manager
--dist-upgrade-devel.
I have my locale set to fr_CA.UTF-8. After the computing of the upgrade,
the program crash without any notice. Inspecting the /var/log/dist-
upgrade/main.log

While investigating bug #208273, I tried another upgrade but discover
that I didn't change the environment settting like I hoped I had. I
closed the window and got a dialog saying 'Annuler la mise à jour en
cours?' which means 'Cancel the upgrade?'
To work around this, I tried running with LANG=C LC_ALL=C, but it didn't
change anything. For weird reasons, the UI spawned by 'Version Upgrade'
still appears in French.

you should be able to remove any questions on your Need attention report by
posting a comment on the question.
For example, just post an answer on any of these Open questions and it will be
removed from your Need attention report (since they will move to the Answered
state.)

Ok, I kind of see the problem.
In that particular case, it would have been better to file a bug about
the user's issue and link it to the question. That way, the question
would have been 'Answered' (and off your todo list), but the user would
still be able to track the long-term resolution of the

I'd also point out that if a user reopens his question, it will be
expired after two weeks if nobody post to it. That would also clean the
Open questions lists. But since in that particular case, the questions
would be an Expired answered question, it would still be useful to allow
'official' answe

menu item be re-enabled.
