Hi,
Today, I gave dasher in maverick another try. I used the version from
the repository: version 4.11-1
As test, I decided to write the first two pages of the following text with
dasher:

I ran another test as indicated in the previous message.
Configuration:
* Ubuntu natty development version
* dasher 4.11-1ubuntu1 from the ubuntu natty repository
* at-spi disabled
I was able to write two pages from the book indicated in the previous
message without experiencing a crash.

The documentation linked above about how to enable onboard at GDM was

contains a checkbox to start the onscreen keyboard.

I forgot to mention that the name python-virtkey is now also used for
the source package. (However, we kept the name virtkey.so for the

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: devede
I am not able to install devede in maverick, because the libavutil-
extra-49 dependency is missing. There is however libavutil-extra-50 in
the repos, but I don't know whether replacing the missing dependency
with the new version will break devede.
We, the developers of onboard, ship onboard with menu items (desktop
files). However, the Ubuntu developers continue to change them to be
hidden by default.

onscreen keyboard by using the mouse; the keyboard shortcut might not be

I don't know whether it can be qualified as a fix; I would rather say
that it is a work around the problem because I suppose that a fix should
make it work without the IgnoreABI flag.
