Sorry for bringing this up again, but I see quite similar symptoms on a
current natty install with kernel 2.6.37-5 and dbus 1.4.0-0ubuntu1 on a
DELL E6510 laptop (NVIDIA NVS 3100M). When I try to suspend on battery
(which fails because 2 tasks "fail to freeze"), dbus starts acting mad

it. Network connections didn't come back though.

I don't think the workaround in #12 is practically useful unless you
want to disallow password-based logins. The password is needed anyway to
unlock the ecryptfs key, so imho typing it in once on first login is way
easier than authenticating via public key and then manually unlocking
the encrypted
@jbwiv no need to search in $HOME/.Private, just search ~ and you'll get
the actual files.

indeed still present in 12.04: occasionally unity simply "forgets" about
a particular window and it does neither show up in the alt-tab not the
alt-' and are also not listed in the launcher. I found no way of getting
the window back

related?) that Unity detects my 2 displays in twinview as a single

I just got the exact same error after booting a clean install of natty.
When I run the binary on the command line, no output is created at all
and nothing happens either. However, time until it exits and the shell
prompt comes back varies between 1s and 2min.

I see the same error running evince on a remote host (on natty).
Starting evince via dbus-launch is a workaround.

I was not quite right about that: It only happens for errors in the
preamble, those are reported to occur in the master tex file, but on the
same line they actually occur in the preamble. Errors from files \input
after \begin{document} are reported correctly.
