-generic-pae). I have recompiled it following instructions in #186 and
that did the trick! Thanks a lot.

Have same problem. When changing focus, layout is not updated. As a
temporary workaround, I have to use same layout for all applications.

#82, #85: For me, the reinstallation was quite an easy-go. Nothing
messed up, most of the settings remained to work as they did previously.
The only things I had to install again were Opera (internet browser),
Nvidia drivers and there were some minor tweaks for the UI itself - I am
now using Unity

The update via Update Manager didn't work for me as mentioned before so
I tried a clean reinstall. Fortunately, Ubuntu installer is able to keep
all configuration from home dir a also to reinstall most of previously

definitely not something described by previous comment. This is Dell
e6410 (core i5) + Nvidia NVS 320.

I can confirm something similar happening to me. Sometimes, after
startup icons are fine for something like 20 seconds and after that they
turn into non-decorated ones using some horrible theme. Nautilus is the
only application suffering from this as you can see from screenshot
attached - unity pan
Unfortunately, the kernel 2.6.38.10 upgrade didn't help for me. Problem
still remains.
