Thank you! I'm feeling experimental so I'll try the proposed version and
report back.
By the way, I "discovered" that I never really needed to turn off
automount in order to use my mp3 player in Rhythm Box. It turns out that
Rhythm box can use it just fine, I just don't see the devise as
Updated udisks, but still not able to read my usb (it works in other

Update: I've discovered a workaround that allows the use of the USB
wireless and the USB flash drive.
1) While laptop is off, unplug all usb connected devices.
2) Turn on laptop and log in.
3) Plug in any or all usb devices, they should both be recognized (I only have
two connection ports).

I hope I am not hijacking this bug. I am using my sonś laptop, which I
set up with a fresh install of 10.04. It is also set up to automatically
log him in since I do not use it very often. He is away so I am using it
and can not log in - the username/password combo is correct (I have
check cap lock

Worked nice. Now I've upgraded the EeePC with a 256 GB OZC Petrol and
the installation use to come to the installation of APT and there it

Seems like the problem was the SSD harddrive. After a few retries and
reinstallations it refused to work with me at all. Sent it in for RMA
and got a new one for the same system which works flawlessly.
