You should never use a kernel compiled in other version in your actual
version.
If you want to test the new kernel (and the new one is 2.6.20-6),

I've checked it and the symlink exists in Jaunty (and likely Intrepid,
but I couldn't check that). It's not shown in the filelist because the
symlink is created upon installation by python-central.
