It seems that the new way of recognizing Nokia S60 phones by their
storage.model doesn't work with all the S60 phones after all. I have a
Nokia E51 which reports its storage.model as "E51", not "S60" as
expected by http://cgit.freedesktop.org/hal
Since there seems to be so much confusion and unanswered questions, I
guess providing a direct link to a comment made on the upstream bug by
one of the NM devs would be useful:

Hmm, I still have exactly the same problem on Intrepid and by looking at
/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-modem.fdi it seems that
the patch still isn't applied.

I was able to connect my La Fonera's private network after I configured
it to use WPA2 and AES. I'm still having problems connecting my other
wireless access point, a D-Link DWL-2000AP+ though. According to "wlink
wlan0 scanning" it's using WPA1 and TKIP. Maybe the
authentication/encryption method
Oops, I just found out I had set up MAC address based filtering on the
DWL-2000AP+...
Other La Fonera owners, if you're able to access the configuration
interface of your router, you could try if changing the
authentication/encryption protocol helps you the way it helped me.

Btw, this bug has an annoying side effect on a laptop. When gnome-
screensaver-dialog and gnome-screensaver have to be killed, the timeout
for entering powersaving (sleep or hibernate) is never voided. I guess

After upgrading to Gutsy, the unlock dialog for gnome-screensaver has
stopped working. After moving the mouse/touchpad or pressing a key the
screen stays blank and just the mouse cursor shows up.

patch to include the changes that were made between versions 1.51 and

Thanks for the tip! It wasn't in fact the same issue, but just looking
at /etc/pam.d and /var/log/auth.log helped me getting to the root of
this. While running Feisty I added the line @include common-pamkeyring
to /etc/pam.d/gnome-screensaver to enable automatic WPA authentication

Yes, unfortunately, even after upgrading to GTK 2.20 Prism still
crashes. I could install the some dbg-packages if that would provide the
