a few times.
gnome-terminal's default behavior is to steal the Alt key, for menu
accelerators. Users like us who want to use the full readline bindings

(Launchpad let me change the status of the bug, but it's having a
problem when I try to change the assignment to gnome-terminal,right
now.)
I could add, if you couldn't find this preference, you could talk to
upstream Gnome about how you might have discovered it more readily.

I can confirm this, now, too. I didn't have any custom shortcuts, but I
downgraded gnome-settings-daemon to 3.4.2-0ubuntu8, and made some.
gnome-control-center-* needed to be downgraded to the same version, to
run properly. Shortcuts under 0ubuntu8 did not survive into 0ubuntu9.
I could make new
I don't know any reason to think this bug has been fixed. I think
'toda' has been making some changes that they may not understand.

The missing file is /usr/bin/metacity. I saw the same error message
posted by jhosman. It says it's trying to run metacity, and I saw that
the metacity package wasn't on my quantal system. So I installed
metacity, and "unity --reset" ran successfully. (Ok, maybe still a bit
bumpy, like any "uni
