Additional info. Although gnome-pilot will not work, I checked to see
what devices were built in the /dev directory when HotSync was pressed.

I have loaded the proposed version of gnome-pilot 2.0.15-2ubuntu4. I set the
gnome-pilot Device Settings to Type USB and Device usb: When I hotsync nothing
happens. The system does see the PDA - see pasted lsusb output below.

Ok. In my previous test (with the error dialog pop-up), the visor module
was loaded, the serial radio button was pressed and the device name was
devpilot. I just tried with this setup - the visor module was loaded,
the USB radio button was pressed and the device name was /dev/ttyUSB1 -
this WORKED.
I added the proposed repository and I believe that I have loaded the new
version (gnome-pilot 2.0.12-2ubuntu4) but I cannot get it to work, I use
a Clie SJ-22.

wasn't present you must have done something to cause its removal. While
SAMBA is not preinstalled as part of the standard Ubuntu or Xubuntu
installation, it is not necessary to browse Windows shares. Samba

Whoops - I spoke too soon. This fix did make my Pilot applet appear on
the panel. However, I dropped a file to be uploaded to the Palm onto the
applet, then did a sync. The sync worked and the file was uploaded BUT
the applet disappeared from the panel and I had to click on the panel

While it could be a Windows problem, possibly something isn't right with your

ubu9.04, reliably syncing via usb: each and every time. When I upgraded
to 9.10 it didn't work, crashing my Sony Clie PEG-SJ22/U, as described

importance. What good are master documents if their result cannot be

I can confirm this bug. Using trzsz version 0.12.21-5 via minicom I
cannot get xmodem to download to an ARM7 machines uboot unless I (1)
open a second shell and use cat/dev/ttyxxx to flush the queue (2) start
the xmodem send; (3) kill the extra shell. This flushes the queue and
xmodem then works.
