I had a similar problem, I found out the cause with the following:
sudo killall jockey-backend
sudo /usr/share/jockey/jockey-backend --debug -l /tmp/jockey.log
And then trying the install of the driver again.
The resulting log file indicates that the module fglrx is not found for
the kernel

I tried to disable the check in the code where the conflict is reported
to see if there is a real conflict or just the BIOS reporting the region
as used. It compiles and runs ok, it allows me to use all features of
tp-smapi without problems so far. See http://mailman.linux-

I could not find any reference to a library "libmt6" or "libmt7" anywhere, can
you provide the full file name that you are looking at? Also can you please
execute the following (put in the full filename of the library)

which will print out which package provides this library.
