The incomplete status is because we have to wait until the Debian package is
available for 0.15 so that can be included in the Ubuntu dist. I don't think
there is much sense in making a special Ubuntu package.

I misinterpreted the file chooser dialogue. In the past it said "XML
files (*.xml *.isy)" and now it simply says "XML files". This got me
confused but it does actually still display both kind of files.

colour pallet) if the language environment is not set to "C".
A workaround is not calling Ipe directly but via a script like this:

Hi 6 month in and the upstream patch that's already packaged by Debian
and for Karmic (ipe (6.0pre32patch1-1)) is still not back-ported to

Since Subclipse relies on sun-java I changed the order of java

I can confirm that using a fresh install (on a different machine but
with exactly the same audio card as mine"Intel 82801I") the internal mic
will works. Strange and I wouldn't really want to reinstall my machine.

can no longer verify this issue. So I guess at some point some package
configuration had a "hickup" and left something behind. Anyway since

Well in the meantime I found the possible reason. The preferences of
pulse audio don't let you choose a "Digital Microphone 1" such as is
installed in my machine as input device. It only gives you a choice of
two *analog* "Microphone 1" and "Microphone 2". Now getting around this
by using alsamixer
OK I could start alsamixer after I removed the "pulseaudio" package
(which also means that ubuntu-desktop is removed). Not really a nice
solution. If a solution at all. So it looks like that pulseaudio somehow
blocks the alsamixer alltogether.

pulseaudio in order to get alsa-mixer running. At least now I could set
the digital mic and confirm that the mic itself works it's really just
