Running the command "sudo apt-get upgrade -f" worked for me. It ran for
a while and when everything was finished the problem packages were no
longer posing a problem.
There were 3 new updates after running this command that installed
without a problem.

Binary package hint: xchat
Text on long messages that are sent or received is not wrapped when it
should be. This is a major problem as it makes it extremely difficult to
read these messages as there is no horizontal scroll bar.
I have attached a screen shot showing this bug

I deleted the .xchat2 folder in my home folder, resetting all settings,
and the problem went away. Seems to be an issue with my old settings.
This bug can be closed.

I too am having this problem. It will sometimes work 3 or 4 times but
will then have problems. The only solution I have found when it happens
is to do a hard reboot.
I have also noticed that the system will not fully go into sleep by just
closing the lid. I believe it is related. The system will g
