keybindings are wrong. Looking at emacs' messages window an pressing
ESC gives
ESC is undefined
(I don't know what refers to.)
Other problems include mousing over a menu key activates the key,
scrolling though the menu options and selecting one of them when I move
the mo
he bug.

I seem to have a similar problem with flashback: It shows up when I try
to install (or as part of the distribution upgrade) Here's a log of my
attempts for fix it.
root@ronis-netbook:~# apt-get upgrade

Reading state information... Done
This hasn't happened in a long time. Close this I guess.

I don't know if this is the same problem, but I just upgraded to 11.10
(released) on my Gateway netbook.The keyboard map is all messed up
(I am using English(US)). In particular, the arrow keys (with or
without numlock on) return the wrong keysyms I've tried several of the
English settings,

I ran (on the remote box) under valgrind. Now the main GUI maps but
evolution seems to hang trying to fetch mail from my various accounts
(none of them work). Ultimately I have to kill evolution. Here's what
I see on the console:

One more observation: Other gnome/X applications (e.g., gnumeric,

I've tried updating via ubuntu's update manager--nothing comes up.
What exactly was fixed? My suspicion is that this is an Xorg issue, not
an evolution one. I've just noticed that my inital posting had the
