As there has not been any change in hubackup regarding DVD-RAM, the
issue is still the same.
But maybe I did not explain it very well.
DVD-RAM can be written like a HD or an USB stick or such. As the
capacity is limited however, the backup has to be split like with normal
CDs or DVDs.

I can confirm the problem under the following conditions:
1. Suspend to disk is used.
2. the media is in use, e.g. by a nautilus window. This will frequently happen
with the default nautilus setting to "browse new media when inserted".
In that case, it seems the media is not properly unmounted.
Basically, it seems to work.
But if the backup is too big for a single DVD-RAM, no new medium is
requested.

Just tested with feisty live CD: seems to work there.
On edgy I just noticed that when dpkg-reconfiguring xserver-xorg, even
when I selected ImPS/2, there was always ExplorerPS/2 written to
xorg.conf.
Seems to be resolved though.

I'd also like to emphasize that this bug is likely affect every system
as soon as you configure udftools for packetwriting (1 minute max).
I am happy to test, but any developer able to debug the matter should
also be able to test it himself, which might simplify the whole thing ;)

I can confirm such a problem: USB mouse freezes randomly. No hint in
dmesg at that time. After unplugging, the following appears:

Update / Correction:
It happened again. Limited scrolling worked, changing VT too, but no login
possible of course. After unlocking disk, the system failed to find the root
fs, tried to drop to a shell, but failed with a kernel panic (out of memory and
no killable processes).
