I am booting from a USB hard drive. After completing the upgrade from
8.10 to 9.04 my system restarted and prints "Starting Up" then "Loading
Please Wait". Either nothing happens or a traceback appears: "Kernel
Panic - Fatal Exception in Interrupt".

I ran ubuntu update manager and got all the updates including the latest
eclipse for lucid. Note that I followed googles instructions last year
for Android development and downloaded SUN JDK 6. I noticed when I ran
Ubuntu Update manager at the beginning of March the Sun JDK updated from

connected to the AOC monitor works at 1920 and 1680 running
lucid. I tried to use apport-collect 441850 but I got a strange error:

I removed the two /dev/scd0 lines from fstab. The result is that when I
unplug the USB DVD writer the Volumes remained unchanged: cdrom0 and
floppy0 do not appear. I then plugged in the Cruzer USB key and clicked

Yes I believe the problem is still present with Lucid. The package usbip
in software center provides a protocol for sharing usb devices plugged
into a linux computer with another linux computer. This also the case

Todays daily live cd seems better. The first time I booted it put up a
popup asking me to use Classic Desktop due to missing drivers. Later
when I booted again I clicked try ubuntu and the system freezes with the
red lines but then a new desktop appears after a minute or so. I then

This happens to me on the Asus EEE PC 701. It takes longer to happen.
The system freezes except for the mouse after 10 minutes while browsing
with Chrome:

once before I had ssh set up. It did not freeze again but dmesg

My eeepc is running ok after installing the backport from the fig ppa. I
used the system for several hours last night in google chrome and again
this morning. Previously the bug could take all day to show up.
Scrolling is a little laggy. However this evening I am seeing slight

The kernel 2.6.38-999-generic #201102231436 froze after half an hour of
browsing on the eee pc. I rebooted it and saw within a minute apport
wanted to submit a gpu related bug. However the entries in
dmesg/kern.log related to the GPU hanging/resetting seem to be missing
from the 999 kernel.

The freezes have not occurred for several days now so I would consider
them fixed. The patch has not made other problems worse.
