I tried 7.10 desktop (final) inside VirtualBox.
It uses the vesa driver.
The resolution changes made by the "Screen Resolution" applet are ignored.
It offers 1024x768, 800x600 and 640x480, nut the screen always uses 1024x768.
(a bug with the "Screen Resolution" applet ?)

When booted the CD, on the desktop in the menu bar there is a weird icon where
the Firefox icon used to be.
That is right of the "System" menu and left of the Evolution icon.
The icon looks like a keyboard on a spring.

I just booted 8.04 alpha 5 and I thought it is a bug.
Becasue first the boot menu appears, then a second later the language
menu. Looks like if it detects a spurious press of the F4 (or which one
is it for the lang) key.
I realise it is too late for any changes in 8.

If I mute the Master channel, sound is heard for another 1,5 seconds, only then
is it muted.
Unmuting happens instantly.
Muting the PCM channel has no such delay. Also all volume changes happen

But previously I noticed that is sometimes works, sometimes not.
This is really not hard to test, so please ...
(you just have to select any timezone and check that the time displayed matches
the BIOS clock, which also matches the real clock)

After I select another resolution, click Apply, the confirmation dialog
appears, but there is no change to the screen. It does not even blink.
Tried on two systems:
- radeon
ctrl + or - (on numpad) do not work either

After restarting/killing X a few times, issues xrandr commands manually,
editing xorg.conf (unrelated, I only changed the Emulate3Timeout mouse
option), is seems to work.

On a Core2 Duo 2GHz CPU it takes 1-2 seconds on simple screens
(language/location choice)
and 28(!!!) seconds before the partition screen appears. Then if I select

- boot the gutsy desktop i386 CD
- start the "install" icon on dektop
- maximize the installer wizard
- unmaximize it
Result:
- the original size is not restored, but it is still on the maximum size
