When I rebooted yesterday (purely to reclaim memory), gnome-panel had about
230MB.
Now, after 20 hours of uptime, it's at 65MB and climbing.
So, it's clearly not fixed. How can I help to sort this?

Me too. I get the exact same behavior with a Compaq Presario model
c304nr. Intel 915 graphics, intel xorg-driver. Last update was
2007-10-10.

The behavior for me is very similar. I get the blank screen with
strange characters/markings. I see a similar screen as in the avi in
bug #127101, mine is more black, less characters. I only get this on
